Part I: After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
1. ___________________________.
2. ___________________________.
Part II: At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment so far has been _________________.
After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
ReplyDelete1. Cite all sources used and use quotations when necessary.
2. Stay organized and know where each idea I have written has come from.
At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment so far has been to choose an appropriate topic as well as find good sources to support that topic.
After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
ReplyDelete1. Take notes on each article and write my citation at the top of the page with the title of the article.
2. Be careful to use a citation every time I use ideas that are not mine. Whether the ideas are reworded, summarized, or directly quoted, they are not my ideas and should be cited correctly.
At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment is finding good sources that match my topic; the workload on top of school is also hard to juggle.
After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
ReplyDelete1) Make sure I cite all sources used that are not mine. It does not matter if the sources are summarized, paraphrased or directly quoted.
2) Make sure I am organized and keep track of all sources.
At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment is narrowing down my topic and knowing exactly what is expected of me when writing this report. I am still a little confused. Plus the stress of my teaching job; report cards and conferences coming up, are at times difficult to manage.

1. write down my paraphrasing on a note card
2. when in doubt, cite the source (don’t assume it’s common knowledge)
Part II: At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment so far has been staying organized and keeping track of my notes as I sift through the various resources. I am a bit haphazard in my search for current and reliable literature.

ReplyDeletePart I: After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
1. Properly cite information that I recall when researching.
2. Write down my own personal thoughts on a topic first. Know the difference between common knowledge and documented facts.
Part II: At this point in the course, I would say the most difficult thing about this assignment so far has been
Picking a topic and truly finding beneficial information on my topic.
After viewing the tutorials on Plagiarism, I think I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
ReplyDelete1) Make sure to properly acknowledge the ideas and sources that support my research by using quotations and/or citing anything that is not “common knowledge”
2) Practice summarizing by using note cards- First I should read the article. Then, I will use note cards to write down the important information that I remember WITHOUT looking back into the article. This will force me to paraphrase the content in my own words. After writing my note card, I will then look back to the article to compare my notes to the original source. Last, I will place quotations in areas that are still necessary on my note card. Following these steps and using note cards will be a useful way to avoid plagiarism.
*At this point in the course, the most difficult part of the assignment so far has been choosing an appropriate topic. After researching and reading many articles for the past week and a half, I still have not selected a specific topic. It is challenging to find a topic that seems interesting, while still including enough information and credible articles to be supportive to my project. Once I am finally able to pin point a specific topic, I know the rest of the project will fall in to place much easier. In addition, it has been more challenging than I thought to balance my school work for teaching with my research for this class. I am finding myself with little to no relaxation time as I am working every night until rather late, and I still feel behind and a little overwhelmed.
I can best avoid plagiarizing if I do these two things:
ReplyDelete1.Correctly cite all sources,as well as making known the ideas and sources that I use in my research, not assuming anything is common knowledge, anything borrowed or quotated needs to be refferenced and sited.
2.Try to do an outline, stay on schedule and have my opinionated ideas and thoughts seperate from documented facts.
At this point in the course the hardest thing about this assignment so far is coming up with a valid and concrete research question.
